The 10 days of no heat challenge is over! How did you do?? And what did you learn?? Most days I either just added some texture cream or sprayed dry shampoo to leave hair relaxed and straight or I really embraced braiding my hair while dry in the mornings when getting ready to get that beachy wave look. Surprisingly it worked really well! And that is saying a lot since my hair is naturally board straight ha. Check out how I did during my 10 days of no heat: To be honest, I cheated for one of the days (the last picture). I used a curling iron for a night on the town with friends. HOWEVER, I think the important lesson I learned from all of this was not to just always strive to go days without heat, but rather to change my perspective and habits on heat. It’s not that using heat is bad, it’s thinking you have to habitually grab the straightener every day or curl every single piece of hair to get that "relaxed waves" look you wanted. This challenge really showed me that I do look good with minimum heat and for everyday casual me. I can put down the heat sometimes to give my hair a break and re-hydrate. When I cheated on the last photo, I actually only curled about 10 strands total of the top layer of my hair, which I normally curl every piece. And it still looks great and I was able to achieve the same look.
I am on the hunt for a good hair mask, so stay tuned for a future post!
