Keeping your hair silky smooth and vibrant in the winter time can be difficult. Especially if the sun is only shining so much between all the rain and what not lol. I have found the perfect solution to get your hair glowing again and feeling silky smooth without the added oily look, and it is super affordable!

Since my hair needs that extra boost in the dull, winter months, this Kristin Ess Milk Oil has been a game changer. It Leaves my hair feeling so soft to the touch and gives it that extra shine like I've been soaking up sunshine for months! I typically apply a dime size amount from the pump onto the lower ends of my hair after I shower when my hair is still wet. You do not need much at all so do not over use!

So I wanted to get on here and chat about the struggles of shopping. Yes even as someone who loves going shopping and finding clothes that look good, I still struggle. Having access to so many social media platforms with pictures of how we should look and what to buy, it can all get overwhelming. I recently went shopping this past weekend and I wanted to share my experience and some tips that helped me! Let's get real...

It is hard to look at clothes on the hanger and know how it is going to look on your body. So if it slightly looks interesting at all, TRY IT ON! I always end up leaving with pieces that were not what I expected and end up looking so flattering. It never hurts going into a dressing room with 20+ items even if you leave with only 1 or 2 great pieces.

As you are trying on items and you begin to narrow things down, picture where you would wear that top or dress? Would it go well with the black jeans you already have to wear to work or is it the perfect weekend brunch outfit? If you cannot figure out how to wear it with other items in your closet or in your everyday life, don't buy it. Try thinking about shopping like this, I work 5 days a week, that is 70% of my time so work clothes should be 70% of my closet. And then I would say the other 20% is casual everyday wear for weekends and 10% for going out or special items.

This can be a hard one, especially when so many images are influencing us daily. Just because something is a trend or you see it on someone else, does not mean it is going to be your go to piece. Find clothes that flatter YOUR body! If you have an hour glass shape, find clothing that hugs and shows off your curves yet accentuates your tiny waist. I have learned quickly that some items just clearly do not work on my body no matter how hard I try. So except where you are right now and get clothes that make you feel good.

Because when you look good, you feel good!

I have learned this simple trick. This Valentine's day, I decided to take a classic outfit and add a pop of neon pink. I took a simple white blouse with high waist blue jeans and literally just added a little bit of color to make the whole outfit. It was the perfect fix.

I tied a knot at the bottom of this cute silky white blouse and paired it with my go-to high waist jeans from Madewell (last featured in this post). I wanted to add the cutest girly statement, so these bright pink heels were perfect. Adding a pop of color can be the easiest statement especially with shoes. If you do not know how to do color or always stick to simple clothes, shoes are your easiest option! I threw on this light pink leather jacket to fully complete the look.

I also decided to go crazy and live on the wild side and try a new hairstyle. This braided bun was edgy and super easy, trust me! Just separate the very bottom section of hair and then put the rest into a normal top knot. Then braid two sections from the bottom up and secure with another hair tie around the bun. Spray with Tresemme hair spray to keep the look in place all night long.
