The over sized sneaker trend is taking over and I am loving it! At first I was a bit skeptical because many of them remind me of the simple dad New Balance sneakers, but they are starting to be really chic. Sneakers are being worn with outfits not intended for being anywhere near a gym. And hey, who wouldn't want the excuse to wear more sneakers?? Super comfortable!
The good thing about sneaker fashion is that it is getting to be pretty regular and standard. Many people are going for downright comfort and that makes me so happy! If at first, just try pairing with casual jeans or shorts and a tee. It also would go well with a flowy cotton dress if exploring a city or doing daytime activities. Fall is coming before you know it, and it is almost September!! Transitioning to fall for me means adding more definition in textures and material. It also means using a deeper color pallet that highlights those true fall colors of burnt orange, moss green, and deep tan. And who doesn't think of instant fall with the color orange?!
Start transitioning your style slowly to fall until you absolutely have to start grabbing that sweater or jeans with this cute Zara drawstring top (last seen here). It has a rich waffle knit texture that gives definition. I also love that it is a boxy and structured tee shirt. I paired it with high waist shorts and cute lace up sandals since it is still warm out in Los Angeles. But it can easily be with jeans and booties.
Ha and lol at the picture above. Sometimes my husband who takes all of my photos for the blog gets "bored" with the standard outfit poses. He wanted me to spread my arms out and go crazy for a shot. Hey, whatever makes my photographer happy so I can keep getting shots for the blog!
Cinespia at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the perfect locals event to do while visiting Los Angeles in the summer time. I mean who doesn't love lounging with friends on a quilt under the Hollywood stars sipping on wine, eating yummy snacks, and watching movie classics?? I recently had the opportunity to enjoy watching the first two episodes of the Marvelous Mrs Maisel at Cinespia. So if you haven't already watched The Marvelous Mrs Maisel on Amazon Prime TV, then do it! It is such an empowering, woman-centric TV show that is truly down to earth and so funny.
The recent event I attended at Cinespia was slightly different since it partnered with Amazon to promote their show which provided a bit more entertainment and food trucks. But here is the typical tips for how to have a successful Cinespia or any outdoor movie:
Make sure to bring all the necessary supplies you will need. I suggest bringing a blanket with a waterproof bottom because the grass will slowly make your blanket feel damp. Next you will need a picnic basket or bag to hold any items you will need for eating & storing food. Don't forget plates, cups, napkins, utensils, bottle openers for beer & wine, knife if you need to cut any food or meats & cheeses, etc. Also bring a small cooler to have wine, beer, drinks, etc. And of course anything extra to make your picnic space look extra fun and enjoyable you could always add foldable tray, serving dishes, cocktail kits, etc.
