Like the new look?? Take a look around the blog and let me know what you think in the comments below please! I am over a year into this whole blog thing and it really got me to think about why I am doing this, my goals, my brand, and my inspiration. I've always wanted this space to be a place for casual conversations, real life tips, and everyday inspiration. Whether it is from sharing that best fitting top to that moisturizer that's working wonders on my skin, or even just taking you along for the ride of all the places I went to in Paris. After blogging for a while, I slowly started to get suckered in to what everyone else is doing and setting myself up with these unrealistic expectations. And honestly, I truly needed to stay true to myself and understand what I am wanting to accomplish with this space. I started to brainstorm, using My Style Vita's blog post as inspiration, and here is how I got to my vision, purpose, and brand. 3 branding questions I asked myselfWord mapping can be the key to articulating exactly what you are wanting to say and this helped me truly define what I wanted to accomplish with Fashion + Freckles. Here are the three questioned I asked myself. 1. What emotional words define my brand? These words include the feelings you want to evoke on your brand. The words I wanted my readers to truly feel when reading my blog was inspired, relatable, and most importantly achievable. I wanted this space to be an honest representation of what I had discovered in my own life to share with you and make you as a reader feel that you could relate to me, and be inspired to achieve it for yourself. 2. What are the functional words of my brand? These words describe what exactly you want your brand to be or offer. If you know me, I am always effortless and practical because I do not have time to be otherwise ha! I also wanted to relate as mentioned above so being affordable is very important to me and my brand as well. 3. What adjectives describe myself and my brand? These words really describe your content, images, and perception that you want your brand to give. Being an everyday type of girl living in the moment, with flaws, aspirations, and moments to celebrate, I felt that I could deliver not only my emotional and functional words listed above, but create that raw space on my blog to be me. I am a girl on the go living in an city chic environment with some understated femininity. how i created the fashion + freckles brandOnce I figured out all of the words that I wanted my brand to truly be about and represent, creating the Fashion + Freckles brand became much easier. I knew exactly where I wanted to go and be for my readers. So next up was brand identity. brand identity: I needed to articulate my emotional words, functional words, and adjectives into a few key sentences that defined exactly what I was doing. color pallet and brand exploration I wanted to keep my original pink as the primary color of Fashion + Freckles because that is exactly the type of girl I am. But really defining the colors and inspiration was so fun! logos Last came logs! I kept my original logo and just added some extra as I really liked it and still felt like it was me and this brand. I loved playing around with different icons to create some true branding behind Fashion + Freckles. So welcome to Fashion + Freckles and I hope you can see why I am doing this and what I hope that you, the reader, can get from this space. So let's aspire to be everyday chic because even a redhead with freckles can accomplish it!
