Online shopping can seem overwhelming and just plain difficult. To be honest, I hardly ever and I mean ever online shop until just recently. I use to always have the convenience and time to go into stores and try on clothes and come home with exactly what I wanted. And now, I seem to not have time to physically shop, and once you get the hang of online shopping, its actually easier. Here is my tips on how to successfully online shop.
FREE SHIPPING & FREE RETURNS
The most important rule I follow when online shopping is free shipping and free returns!! It gives you the freedom to order whatever you want and try on at home. Some of my favorite places to shop with good shipping & return polices are Nordstrom , ASOS (spend over $49.99 or free 2-day shipping for $19/yr), TopShop (orders over $20), Revolve, and Nordstrom Rack (orders over $100). So feel free to order many options and have an easy return,
CREATE A LIST
Create a list so you know what you are shopping for. This helps to narrow down your search and keeps you from aimlessly looking. I sometimes get overwhelmed so creating a list is helpful. Once you know that you are looking for something specific, use the filters to help you out. If you need a black sweater, then create those filters to really narrow down your search.
JUST ORDER IT
For some reason with online shopping, I would always chicken out and not put something in my cart. The good thing about finding places with good shipping and return policies is that if you don't like it or it does not fit, you can return it no problems. So place whatever you think might look good on you.
DONT GET FRUSTRATED
The big difference with online shopping vs going into a physical store is that you get to try on clothing before buying at a store. This frustrated me at first that I could order 6+ items and nothing fit me right or looked like what I thought it was. Do not get frustrated because do you know how many items you do not buy after going into a fitting room?? More than half of the items that you tried on! So if you have to return everything, do so and start again. Sooner or later you will start to catch on to what will fit your body type based on the model photos posted online. So stick with it!
