Working out can be tough to stick to the routine, but with some of these tips I can help you make it easy! As much as I lovveee going to group classes like pilates, bar, yoga, etc I found that it was hard to commit to taking more than 2 classes a week if that because it seemed to be an "event" that needed planning and time. So more time than not I was not getting a consistent workout in with my busy schedule. So I ended up switching to the gym life and using classes as fun rewards or social hour to go with friends.
Here's my workout routine and go-tos.

I downloaded the appStrongLifts 5x5 and have been loving it so far. They have two workouts that will alternate each time you do the workout. It focuses on squats which not only works out those legs but also helps with butts and core. It then rotates through arm and core/back strengthening. If you complete all of the sets, it will increase your weight by 5 lbs for the next workout to continue to build your muscle and burn that fat.
The biggest tip I can give you is you may notice that my weight numbers at the top appear to be lower compared to what the app starts you at. I adjusted my weight number to be the exact amount of weight I put on the bar rather than be the bar + weights because honestly I have no clue how much the bar actually weighs lol. So for example, if I put my squats at 50 lbs, the I place 25 lbs on each side of the weight. That way I don't have to think about it while working out.
I also use the "notes" section located at the bottom middle for any additional exercises I might want to do. I like to do additional crunches on Workout B day. I started by doing front crunches at 2 sets x 20 reps, side crunch twists at 2 sets x 10 reps per side , and lower abs leg lifts at 2 x 10 reps. I add 5 reps each time I come back and just record the number I did in the notes.

You look good, you feel good! This is so true in everyday life, but even more true in the gym. Working out makes me vulnerable and judgmental to myself and the way I look. So if I have a workout outfit that I know looks good and I can rock, it boosts my confidence to perform better. Try sticking to a simple color pallet when buying workout clothes so you can mix and match easily without having to buy an entire closet. I typically choose blacks, greys, light pinks, and greens when it comes to athletic wear. Also getting the right pair of shoes is essential! I like to shop for Nike tennis shoes at Nordstrom Rack to get the best deals.

I love playing Workout Pop Hits playlists on Spotify to keep all the good vibes coming my way through my Apple Airpods. It also helps to have accountability with someone by sending funny Instagram image messaging or posting that you are working out. It just feels good to brag, and hey you deserve it for working out to try and get to your goals!
And then at least once or twice a month reward yourself for all of that hard work by going on an outdoor hike, neighborhood bike ride, or that yoga class you've been dying to try.
